The S1 is Motocaddy’s long-running best-seller, and this 2025 edition is the value route into it. Where the entry-level SE runs on simple speed control, the S1 adds the tools most golfers end up wanting: an LCD widescreen display, nine speed settings, and 45-yard Adjustable Distance Control that sends the trolley ahead to your ball while you walk unencumbered.
At roughly 9.4 kg it is barely heavier than the SE, folds in one step, and runs the same quiet 28V/230W drive with a lithium CLICK ‘N’ CONNECT battery. Being the 2025 model changes none of that — the platform is unchanged where it matters, and the saving against the current season is real money.
Golfers on mostly level or gently rolling courses who want the full everyday feature set without paying for technology they won’t use. If your course has proper hills, the S1 DHC adds automatic downhill braking and is worth the difference. If boot space is the constraint, the M1 folds more compactly. As an all-round first electric trolley with a display, this is the benchmark — with the 24-month trolley and 60-month battery warranty behind it.
The core platform — display, distance control, folding and drive system — is the proven S1 formula. Buying the 2025 edition is about value rather than missing features.
It sends the trolley ahead on its own for a set distance up to 45 yards, so you can let it walk to your ball while you take a different line.
It climbs well, but it has no automatic braking on descents — for a hilly course the S1 DHC is the better buy.
It folds in one step to a compact size; if boot space is your main concern the M1 folds smaller still.
