The SE exists to do one job well: take the bag off your back without complicating your round. At around 9.3 kg it is one of the lightest models in the range, it folds in a single step, and the CLICK ‘N’ CONNECT lithium battery drops in without a cable. There is no screen and no menu to learn — you set the speed, press go, and walk.
The 28V, 230W system runs near-silently, Pause & Resume lets you stop the trolley and pick up exactly where you left off, and the controls are fully ambidextrous. What you give up against the S1 is the LCD display and Adjustable Distance Control — the SE will not run itself a set distance to your ball. In practice, plenty of golfers never miss either.
First-time electric buyers, and anyone who wants Motocaddy build quality at the lowest entry price. If your course has serious hills, consider stepping up to a DHC model such as the S1 DHC, which brakes itself on descents. If you play 36-hole days, the SE Ultra carries the higher-capacity battery. Otherwise, this is the honest answer to “which one do I actually need?” — covered by a 24-month trolley warranty and 60 months on the battery.
No — the SE runs on simple speed control with no screen. If you want an LCD display and distance control, look at the S1 or M1.
Yes, the standard lithium battery is rated for a full 18-hole round on a single charge. For 36-hole days choose the SE Ultra version.
Around 9.3 kg, making it one of the lightest electric trolleys in the Motocaddy range and easy to lift into a boot.
It will climb happily, but it has no Downhill Control to brake on descents — on a genuinely hilly course a DHC model is the better choice.
